HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Information about the course:

This course teaches the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. This course is developed for existing workers in the industry who may require CPR training as recommended by the ARC. If you are completing this course, please download the student agreement. It is the most recent version of what is often referred to as the CPR Update or CPR Refresher.

This Unit replaces the previous course codes HLTCPR201A, HLTCPR201B and most recently HLTCPR211A. It is recommended by the ARC that this course be renewed annually.

The course includes defibrillation (AED) training, there is no longer a stand alone defib course.  If you require AED training this is the course you should now complete.

Award issued:

Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment for: HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Initial Course duration:

  • Mixed mode: Completion of pre-course study plus 2 hours of practical training

Recertification Requirements:

It is recommended this unit be renewed every 12 months in line with industry standards.
